Founded in 1969, Portland Rugby Club is Maine's premier rugby club, located in the State's largest and most dynamic city. The club has a rich and colorful history, and has been challenging clubs up and down the East Coast and beyond for 40 years, making it one of the supporting pillars of New England Rugby. The club routinely fields two men's sides and one women's side each weekend, encompassing players of all ages and levels of experience. Youth rugby is also growing, thanks in large part to the efforts of the club's former players.
Portland men's and women's teams currently play in NERFU Division II during the Fall season, and enjoys competitive "friendly" fixtures with teams in both upper and lower leagues throughout the rest of the year.
Opportunities abound for novices to pick up the game and learn at your own pace, while more experienced players should easily fit in with our well-seasoned teams. Fielding players from all parts of the world, and all walks of life, PRFC is a diverse club, where character is tested and revealed on a regular basis, and lifelong friendships are made. Join us.
